Annual Renewals

The 2022 Renewal period is now CLOSED.

If the College has not received a registrant’s renewal application and payment for the 2022/23 Renewal Period which ends on February 28th, 2022, in accordance with section 21 of the Health Professions Actthat registrant will be removed from the register of dental hygienists in British Columbia effective March 1st, 2022 and may not practice dental hygiene until re-registered.

Reinstatement Information

The Registrar of the College may restore a former registrant to the register upon payment of renewal and reinstatement fees and completion of the online reinstatement form, which can be found by logging in to your online profile, as well as renewal requirements that have not been previously fulfilled. To reinstate registration, the College bylaws require a completed reinstatement application be submitted along with:

  • payment of the renewal fee, ($515.00 for Practicing Categories and $260.00 for Non-Practicing)
  • payment of the reinstatement fee, ($180.25 (RDH, DHP Reinstatement Fee or $91.00 Non-Practicing Reinstatement Fee)
  • submission of an online reinstatement application,
  • submission of any outstanding renewal requirements (if applicable).

Please note, until you receive notification from the CDHBC via phone that your reinstatement request has been approved, you may NOT legally practice dental hygiene in B.C.  
If you would like to have your registration reinstated, complete your reinstatement online through your CDHBC profile by April 30th, 2022: 

The online reinstatement system  will accept payment by Visa, Mastercard and Visa Debit. Please note that payment by Interac Debit card is currently not accepted.  

If you do not wish to reinstate your registration, please reply to this email with written notification of your intent to be removed from the register, so that you will not continue to receive notices from the College.

All CDHBC registrations expire on the last day of February each year. Notice of the renewal time period is emailed to each registrant in accordance with the bylaws.

Preparing to Renew

All registrants must provide a completed renewal application, and proof of professional negligence insurance (except registrants renewing in the non-practicing category).

Online renewal is accessible 24 hours a day during the six-week renewal period each year. The online renewal system accepts payment from Visa, Visa Debit, Interac Debit, and MasterCard.
