Entry-to-Practice Canadian Competencies for Dental Hygienists
The Federation of Dental Hygiene Regulators of Canada (FDHRC) has published the Entry-to-Practice Canadian Competencies for Dental Hygienists. This is a single, up-to-date set of national entry-to-practice competencies for dental hygienists.
It is the FDHRC’s goal that the new competencies will be used across Canada for purposes that include designing educational dental hygiene programs, accreditation, assessments and professional development; regulating dental hygienists’ entry-to-practice, re-entry and continuing competence; and comparing dental hygiene credentials, including internationally.

Caring for Transgender Clients
With increased visibility of transgender people in our communities and media, public awareness about diverse gender identities and expressions has become more commonplace. Despite this increased visibility, transgender people still face widespread transphobia, which includes fear, dislike and/or prejudice, as well as harrassment and abuse.
