Registration and Renewal

Registration expires annually on the last day of February (unless otherwise specified) and must be renewed prior to expiry.

Access to the On-line Renewal is now closed.
If the College has not received a registrant's application for registration renewal and fee for 2008/09, in accordance with section 21 of the Health Professions Act, that registrant will be removed from the register of dental hygienists in British Columbia. Therefore, that registrant may not practise dental hygiene as they are no longer registered.

The Board of the College may restore a former registrant to the register upon payment of any fees or other sums in arrears.

If you have not submitted your application for registration and renewal and you wish to have your registration reinstated, the College bylaws require that your completed the annual renewal application is submitted no later than April 30, 2008, along with payment of outstanding renewal fee and a reinstatement fee:
  • $140 Reinstatement Fee; Full, Full (Residential Care) and Conditional categories
  • $70 Reinstatement Fee; Non-Practicing category

Please ensure your application is complete and accurate, and includes proof of professional negligence insurance for those registered within a practicing registration category.


Continuing Competency (CC) – Insufficient CC Credits Reported for Renewal
Registrants whose CC Cycle ended on December 31, 2007 must report a minimum of 75 CC Credits within their three year cycle to be eligible to renew. Your continuing competency credit forms must accompany your annual renewal application.

The Board will consider reinstatements on March 5, March 12, April 2, April 16 and May 1, 2008.

If you do not choose to be reinstated, or if you submit your application after April 30, 2008, you will be required to fulfil all registration requirements in effect at that time.
